Running late… Days 2-5

Having the best of intentions doesn’t mean I’ve updated my blog but I have been prompt with Instagram so this is a catch-up.

I’ve definitely noticed that, when I remember, I’m far more observant about what’s going on around me to try and capture something for this first theme but terracotta and clay isn’t hugely inspiring for me. Luckily, Andy and I took a trip to Britomart this week and the bricks there are beautiful so I’ve used two images this week (and have another in reserve) and I’m okay with that. And then there’s an onion (which is slightly out of focus which annoys me immensely but it’s done now).

I’ve also been looking at other Kiwis undertaking the challenge and been inspired. Yesterday I bought some postcard size white card and markers and I’m going to give purposeful doodling a go. And I’ve been knitting this week (first time in about 40 years!!) using a round loom. I bought a cheap one from Daiso and am making some fingerless gloves for Isla and her friend Emilie. I’ll buy a more expensive set this weekend because I’m enjoying it and all is successful (just need to find decent wool). I’m going to make my friend a set of gloves for her birthday and then I’ll do a hat!!

This week I celebrated signing a contract for a new job and start Monday. Therefore, I’m in a great mood.
