Day 1

And so it begins…

I lay in bed this morning and thought it’s time for the first photo. I went back and checked the schedule and thought this first theme is tricky!

Terracotta & clay - Earthy warm tones. Bricks, pots, afternoon wood.

I looked around my room and nothing inspired me but out my window, in my neighbour’s garden, was a palm tree and one of the fronds that had gone brown and the sun was making it a terracotta colour. I thought, I need to go outside and take that photo. I didn’t.

Later on I went to St Luke’s Mall to get some bits and pieces and forgot all about my project. This continued until later this afternoon I remembered that I still hadn’t taken and published my first photo. In my bedroom, our bedside tables are a lovely wood colour and when the light hits it then it might be the right colour but really, it’s brown, not terracotta. So this evening, I wandered around the property and looked for places with good light, good contrast and something interesting for my first day. I’ve taken a range for day one and now I’ve got to select one which will be the first in the range because it’s just right!
